2024 Luna Nuda Rosé

100% Montepulciano

Luna Nuda Rosé is hand selected and sourced by the Giovanett’s in Abruzzo, Italy where Montepulciano grapes are natively grown. The grapes are then brought back to Castelfeder Winery in Alto, Adige for vinification. Luna Nuda Rosé is bright and lively with a beautiful pink color in the glass.  On the palate, this wine has good structure and seductive, fruity aromas. Strawberry bouquets and floral notes give way to a subtle citrus finish, while freshness and acidity are maintained in the finish.

Winemaker Notes

The grapes are brought to Castelfeder Winery where they are de-stemmed, macerated on skins, and then pressed before undergoing primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 10 days. Our rosé spends between 2 to 4 months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled. And we use bentonite for fining the wine to remove any unwanted colloids. The wine is filtered before bottling.

Production Notes

This vintage was harvested from late-August through late-September in Abruzzo. The 10 hectares vineyard sits at 1,000 feet elevation in a Mediterranean climate. The soil is clay with chalk content making it ideal for dry farming. The vines are are between 8 and 20 years old and use both Guyot and Cordone Speronato vine training and pruning systems. These grapes were notable for their balance in sugar and acidity.
